The Dairy is a dark first-person exploration game about returning to the abandoned milk factory that loomed beside your childhood home. The building is not a maze invented from nowhere. It is built around remembered rooms, odd split-level architecture, and the unsettling logic of a real place: the front at street level, a lower factory floor five feet down, and a deeper basement walkway hidden beneath the ledges.

Move through the front office, Lab 1, the receiving milk room, the can cleaning room, the lower factory floor, the furnace and boiler room, the coal room, and the basement shower/changing area. The factory is empty, but it is not quiet. Pipes settle. Water moves where it should not. Old machinery seems to remember its work. The deeper you go, the less the building feels abandoned.

The Dairy is built for players who like atmospheric horror, real-world abandoned places, environmental storytelling, and slow dread.
The receiving room is where the factory identity is strongest. A rusted milk-can conveyor leads into the dark. Empty cans, cracked concrete, and peeling block walls make the room feel like work stopped mid-motion.
The front office is the last part of the building that still feels human. A large window faces the street. Papers, ruined furniture, and old business traces make it feel less like a monster's lair and more like a place people left in a hurry, or tried to forget.
The can cleaning room is utilitarian and wet: wash troughs, rusted racks, broken drains, and old hoses. It should feel colder than the office and more active than it ought to be, like water might still run somewhere behind the walls.
Lab 1 is small, stained, and clinical in the wrong way. Broken glass, old counters, pipes, and damp tile suggest the building's original purpose without explaining what changed after it was abandoned.
The lower factory floor is the main industrial volume: open concrete, stained walls, columns, pipes, puddles, and traces of removed machinery. It gives the player room to breathe while making every doorway feel like a choice.
The furnace/boiler room is the heart of the lower level. Coal dust, blackened block walls, rusted pipes, and a heavy boiler mass make it feel older and more dangerous than the rest of the building. If the factory has a pulse, it starts here.
The basement walkway sits three feet below the lower level. It is narrow, dark, wet, and wrong. The player should feel squeezed between concrete ledges, pipes, and shadow, moving toward the shower/changing room with no easy sense of escape.

The Dairy

A haunted exploration game set inside the abandoned milk factory that watched over my childhood.

About

The Dairy turns a real remembered place into a slow-burn horror game. The factory is built around a reconstructed floor plan: street-level offices and receiving rooms, a lower industrial floor, and a darker basement walkway beneath the cement ledges.

Gameplay

Explore, listen, and descend. The Dairy is about environmental storytelling, uneasy navigation, and discovering what the building kept below the factory floor.

Development Status

The project is currently in early graybox development. The floor plan, first playable walkthrough, and visual mockups are being used to shape the final game environment.
